Spekboom Tented Camp is located in the middle of the Addo Elephant National Park’s main game area, within the fenced-in area of the Spekboom Hide. Guests staying at Spekboom enjoy the opportunity to soak in the bushveld ambiance of the breathtaking natural area. The nearby waterhole provides opportunities for spectacular game viewing all through the day and night.
Situated just less than 12 km from Addo Rest Camp and 27 km from Matyholweni Gate and Camp, Spekboom is accessible via the Southern Access Road.
Rates are per night and exclude 1% community fund which will be added when booking.

Offering views over the waterhole close to Spekboom Tented Camp, five tents are fixed on wooden decks and furnished with 2 beds each. The Spekboom Hide is fenced in for safe wildlife viewing all through the day and night and the overnight tents are within the safety fence.
Accommodating two persons, each of the tents are furnished with 2 single beds with mattresses. A solar-powered light is provided and there is a table, two camp chairs and barbecue facilities on the deck at each tent. The communal ablution facilities are a short walk away from the tents. Guests can bring their own equipment or hire a box with cutlery, crockery, cooking utensils and bedding. Because there is no electricity provided, visitors are advised to bring their own torches and/or headlights.
The communal bathrooms and communal kitchen facilities are the only amenities provided at Spekboom Tented Camp. Because there is no electricity, guests must bring their own firewood and flashlights. A utility box can be hired, or guests can bring their own cutlery, crockery and cookware.
Take note that the tents are only serviced on departure and not during your stay. The fridge and stove runs on gas.
Even though the facilities and activities at the Addo Main Camp is available for use by guests staying in the Spekboom Tented Camp, guests will not be able to participate in any after hour game drives or dinners. The gates to the camps close late afternoon and only open again early in the morning. Guests at Spekboom are not allowed to exit or enter the camp during the night time and therefore cannot join any nightly activities.
