Situated 36 km from the Cape Agulhas Lighthouse and Reception of the Agulhas National Park, Bergplaas Guest House offers a relaxing country setting with endless views of the surrounding landscape. It is off the Struisbaai/Elim road, to the north-west of L’Agulhas.
Take note that the house can only be reached in a 4x4-vehicle, because 26 km of rough gravel road must be travelled to reach the house. During the rainy season of June to August, travellers should contact the park in advance to find out about the condition of the road before attempting to drive to the Bergplaas Guest House.

Guests are accommodated in 5 bedrooms at Bergplaas Guest House, 4 of which have an en-suite bathroom with either a shower or a bath. The Guest House is not close to the sea, but offers spectacular views over the beautiful landscape.
The house has 2 bedrooms furnished with double beds and 2 more bedrooms furnished with 2 single beds each. This bathroom has a shower and toilet and is suited for those with limited mobility.
The kitchen is fully equipped with a fridge, microwave and stove with an oven. A TV with limited DSTV-channels is available.
There are no facilities and amenities available at Bergplaas Guest House, as it is located 36 km from L’Agulhas. Reception is in town at 214 Main Street and there are shops, banks, restaurants, ATM’s, fuel stations and more available in L’Agulhas and in the other towns close to Bergplaas.
Self-drive outings and hikes into the park, where the wildlife, birdlife and extraordinary Fynbos of the region can be admired, is the main attraction of Agulhas National Park.
The historic Agulhas Lighthouse, which was built to aid early explorers on the rough seas off the most southern point in Africa, is another item on everyone’s to-do list. Remains of ancient stone fish traps, used by the Khoisan people and other historical sites can be visited when staying in Agulhas National Park.
