The rest camp in the Bontebok National Park is called Lang Elsie’s Kraal. The camp, which is located on the banks of the Breede River, was named after the historical figure Lang Elsie. She was a Khoi-Khoi Chieftain who lived in the area with her followers, the Hessekwa, in the 18th century. The Khoi-Khoi / Hessekwa-people were the first indigenous people making contact with and trading with the Dutch settlers who arrived in the Cape in 1652.
Rates are per night and exclude 1% community fund which will be added when booking.
