The Wilderness Section of the Garden Route National Park lies along the banks of the Touw River where the tides have an impact on the water level of the series of lakes connected to the river. Eilandvlei, Langvlei and Rondevlei host a variety of birds and fish and visitors can follow the river on the paths and short hikes following the river through spectacular indigenous forests.
The vegetation changes from indigenous forests through coastal fynbos to plantations and the steep kloofs protect the wet mountain forests, allowing a safe haven for a variety of small antelope and other mammals.
Rates are per night and exclude 1% community fund which will be added when booking.

A variety of accommodation types are available in the Ebb-and-flow Rest Camp which is situated around the Touws River estuary and close to the village of Wilderness.
The Ebb-and-Flow Camp at Wilderness has a variety of campsites available for tents, caravans and motorhomes on the banks on the rivers and lakes. Each site can accommodate up to 6 guests and additional vehicles are charged a fee per night. Some campsites have power points and some don’t. Some sites are only suitable for tents and cannot accommodate caravans, some are right next to the water’s edge and some are further away. Communal ablution facilities are available.
Rustic accommodation is provided in the rondavels. Furnished with 2 single beds, each rondavel accommodates up to 2 persons. Some of the rondavels have their own bathrooms and guests staying in the other rondavels make use of the shared ablution facilities. Each unit has a kitchenette with a fridge, hotplate and utensils.
There are 2 different sizes of Forest Cabins available. The smaller cabins are furnished with 2 single beds and can accommodate up to 2 persons. The larger cabins can sleep 4 persons on 4 single beds. Each Forest Cabin has a private bathroom with a shower, toilet and basin.
Ideal for families or groups of friends, the Log Cottages are spacious units with two bedrooms, accommodating up to 4 persons. One bedroom is furnished with a double bed or 2 single beds. The second bedroom is furnished with 2 single beds.
The beautiful town of Knysna is situated central to all the sections of the Garden Route National Park. Sedgefield is also close by. A wide variety of shops and services are available in both towns.
Attracting adventurers and families, a wide variety of exciting activities are offered in and around the Garden Route National Park. Walks, hiking trails as well as mountain bike trails and 4x4-trails take one deep into the forest where the exceptional magic of the Tsitsikamma Forest can be experienced.
