Urikaruus Wilderness Camp is located on the bank of the dry Auob riverbed in the eastern part of the Kgalagadi Park and is more or less halfway between Twee Rivieren and Mata-Mata Rest Camps. Only guests staying at this small camp are allowed to enter the sandy track leading off the main road, offering exclusivity and privacy.
Rates are per night and exclude 1% community fund which will be added when booking.

The Riverside Cabins at Urikaruus are built on stilts and connected by a raised, wooden walkway. Each cabin is split into 2 levels with the kitchen and deck being lower than the bedroom, offering different views on the waterhole. Each cabin has a private bathroom with a shower and toilet. Furnished with 2 single beds each, a maximum of 2 persons are accommodated in each cabin. The equipped kitchen and barbecue facilities on the deck provide all that is needed for a relaxing stay, shared with family or friends.
Each of the Riverside Cabins are furnished with 2 single beds, accommodating up to 2 persons. A private bathroom with a shower and toilet is available and the water is heated by a gas geyser. The kitchen is equipped for self-catering purposes and has a gas fridge/freezer and 2-plate gas stove. Barbecue facilities are available on the deck of each cabin.
Urikaruus Wilderness Camp has no electricity but gas and solar energy is provided for the comfort of guests.
Attracting adventurous visitors who enjoy driving around the park on the lookout for the protected wildlife, the Kgalagadi Transfrontier Park offers several trails - some of them being only accessible by 4x4-vehicles.
The Predator Interpretation Centre at Nossob Camp and the Raptor Interpretation Centre at Mata-Mata offer ample opportunity for learning about the predators and birds of prey living in the Kgalagadi and the hide at the waterhole provides opportunity for close encounters with the wild animals.
