Leokwe Rest Camp is the Main Camp of Mapungubwe and is located in the eastern part of the park, only 11 km from the main entrance to the park. Spectacular sandstone hills offer views over the confluence of the Limpopo and Shashe Rivers.
Rates are per night and exclude 1% community fund which will be added when booking.

Rustic rondavel cottages with thatched roofs are available at Leokwe Rest Camp. The smaller cottages offer accommodation to two persons each and the larger family cottages, accommodate four persons each. All the cottages are air-conditioned and have private bathrooms and barbecue facilities.
These 1-bedroom cottages are furnished with 2 single beds and air-conditioning is provided. The private bathrooms have a shower and a toilet each. There is a double sleeper couch for children and a TV with limited DSTV-channels in the lounge area.
The open plan kitchens are fully equipped with a fridge, 2-plate stove and microwave and cutlery and crockery is provided. Barbecue facilities are available on the covered veranda at each cottage. One of these cottages has been adapted to accommodate those with mobility challenges.
The Family cottages are more spacious with two air-conditioned bedrooms. The main bedroom is furnished with a queen-size bed and the second bedroom with 2 single beds. The shared bathroom has a toilet and shower. DSTV with limited channels is available and the open plan kitchen is equipped for self-catering purposes.
The restaurant at Leokwe Rest Camp offers a wide choice of meals and it’s best to make a booking in advance. The day visitors area has picnic and barbecue facilities and the Mapungubwe Interpretation Centre provides full details on the historical value of this site.
The Leokwe Rest Camp is not fenced-in, making for an experience of being close to nature. The Treetop Hide offers a unique view on the surroundings. The confluence lookout point and picnic site is a popular attraction and the Maloutswa Bird Hide offers breath-taking bird watching opportunities.
