Mazhou Camp is located close to the Limpopo Forest Tented Camp, about 40 km from the main entrance to Mapungubwe National Park.
This intimate camp has 10 campsites for caravans or tents and is located in the western section of the Park and close to the point where Zimbabwe and Botswana meet. The rich history is proven by the many archaeological and historical artefacts that were found in the area in and around the camp.
Rates are per night and exclude 1% community fund which will be added when booking.

Only ten campsites are available at Mazhou Camp, making it an exclusive and intimate venue for a group of friends or family. Both tents and caravans can be accommodated and each campsite has an electrical connection point.
A maximum of 6 persons are allowed per campsite. One vehicle plus a caravan with a side tent or 1 tent or 1 motorhome can be accommodated on each site and additional vehicles will be charged an additional fee. An electrical connection point is provided and communal ablution facilities are available.
Take note that there are no facilities at Mazhou Camp, but the restaurant at Leokwe Rest Camp offers a wide choice of meals and it’s best to make a booking in advance.
The day visitor’s area has picnic and barbecue facilities and the Mapungubwe Interpretation Centre provides full details on the historical value of this site.
The lush riverine forest in which the Mazhou Camp is located, provides spectacular bird watching and game viewing opportunities. Even though the Interpretation Centre is not located at the Forest Camp, this World Heritage Site is interesting and informative and was also the winner of the World Architectural Awards in 2009. Knowledgeable guides offer tours to visitors, providing them with insight into the historical richness of the area.
